What is Esports?
"Esports" is competitive video gaming. Cedar Creek competes in the Garden State Esports (GSE) League, which is a free video game league run by NJ teachers and open to all NJ schools. Creek also competes in a couple games through PlayVS, which is open to the whole country, though we only play schools in our time zone. Games are played one day per week during their season, mostly virtually in Cedar Creek's Esports Lab (Room 102). However, in-person matches are played for semi-finals and finals at colleges, where students play on a stage.
Esports at Cedar Creek
Esports is generally held in our "Esports Lab" in Room 102. See below for our after-school and zero period times.
Our Esports Lab has 8 state-of-the-art Alienware desktop gaming PCs, 3 Nintendo Switches, and lots of controllers!
Anyone with any questions about gaming at Cedar Creek should contact Mr. Marengo (bmarengo@gehrhsd.net) or Ms. Wozniak (cwozniak@gehrhsd.net).
