Oakcrest students participated in October's FAA Mentoring Program. Students toured the cockpit simulation facility. Joshua Burroughs pictured above said "flying as a co-pilot was a great experience, it was interesting to see what a pilot does during a flight."
As Veterans Day nears, Oakcrest JROTC is once again in high demand. In Brigantine today, cadets participated in the parade and ceremony honoring veterans and were thanked by the mayor of Brigantine and the Representative of the Congressional 2nd District of New Jersey.
Superstar, double threat Makayla Jules decorated a cake today for BIO med lab coat ceremony where she will also receive her lab coat!
Mrs. Hinton's Concepts of Spanish class learned about the significance of Día de los Muertos and made decorations for our classroom to celebrate. ¡Feliz Día de los Muertos!
This Friday, November 4th Oakcrest FB team will be traveling to Rumson-Fair Haven for the Group 2 semifinal FB game. Kick off is 7pm. Some rules to abide by:
Admission is $3 for Students and $5 for Adults - Senior Citizens $3
We will be live streaming the game on the NFHS platform.
Bathrooms are located at the snack stand.
Signs are not permitted in the stands, unless school approved and hung on the bottom of the bleachers
Flags are not permitted in the stands
Artificial noise makers are not permitted - (air horns, cow bells, vuvuzelas, whistles, etc...)
Body Painting is not permitted
Baby powder is NOT permitted as it causes significant health concerns
Backpacks and outside beverages are not permitted

Stranger Things in the 400 Wing! Happy Halloween!
The OHS Dance Team won first place in the Mays Landing Halloween Parade dance competition with their performance of “Cruella”!
Juniors & Seniors from Dance Ensemble attended Experience Dance Day at Stockton University where they participated in master classes with Stockton dance faculty and learned about majoring/minoring in dance. Former OHS graduate Gabriel Reyes was instructing the hip hop class!
Oakcrest JROTC beat the odds by competing at the Washington Township Drill Competition this weekend. With cadets entered in several back-to-back events, they managed to go up against powerhouse schools from north and central New Jersey. WAY TO REPRESENT!!! Go Falcons!!!

Oakcrest JROTC Color Guard presented the flag for the NJ Court Opening Ceremony in Woodbury, NJ. The by-name request from Gloucester County is a testament to the Oakcrest unit's reputation throughout Southern New Jersey.
The Kindness Club conducted its first "Staff Shoutout" in honor of the Teen Center's Ms. Amber, not only to say "Thank You!" for all she does for Oakcrest's students and staff, but to also wish her a wonderful birthday with a student-made card, bouquet of flowers and small gifts.
