Solar Sheep! It can be dangerous for people to mow the grass around our solar panels. The sheep eat the grass which is a green way to care for the grass! 🐑

"Hydroponics are the future of agriculture." Growing plants in towers decreases water usage and land usage, making this a more sustainable solution to farming. Creek environmental students are showing freshman English students the future! 🌱 💦 🥬
Recycling is the law in NJ. The ACUA accepts plastics #1,2 & 5 for recycling. Everything else goes into the landfill in EHT. No plastic bags are accepted because the bags get stuck in the recycling machines.
A watershed is an area of land is draining to the same spot. We are in the Barnegat Bay Watershed - all our rain drains to the Bay, then to the Ocean 🌊 ☔️ 🌧️ Keeping our waterways free of pollution is vital to healthy water systems right here! Our ambassadors collected stream samples at 5AM this morning!
"Who likes football?" 🏈 Did you know there are about 200 wells under the Creek football field that help power our geothermal heating and cooling throughout our school! Thank you to our environmental sustainability students for teaching us about the Creek! 🏴☠️ 🌎 ♻️ 🌱
Freshman English gets a taste of real maple syrup from the Stockton Maple Project! 🍁 Did you know the #1 ingredient in pancake syrup is corn syrup? At Stockton it's 100% maple syrup! It takes 60-70 gallons of sap to make 1 gallon of maple syrup!
Bugs and invertebrates can tell you how healthy a stream is. Today 9th grade English learns from Americorps Watershed Ambassadors about assessing healthy streams vs polluted water, right in our backyard! 🐛 🍂 🐜 🦀
9th grade English learns about reducing waste from the ACUA. Our county generates 700-900 tons of trash per day. Do you know where your trash goes? Compost, recycling, and reusing will help! 🌎 🗑️ ♻️ Reducing landfill waste is important for our area!
English 1 students are spending their class period learning about different environmental programs in the area! Our own environmental students presented on Creek's many sustainability projects: solar sheep, geothermal HVAC and more!
